The Calm Before the Storm

Kirsty and Mike had their engagement shoot booked for last Friday, but unfortunately the weather was against us and by the time we were due to start photographing the heavens had opened and Runcorn well and truly fell prey to one of this countries famous April showers. Now I like nothing more than playing out in my wellies in the rain but sadly my camera does not! So after a quick look in the diary we rescheduled. This time the weather could not have been more perfect when we met at Runcorn Hill with soft evening light casting a warm glow all around. Mike and Kirsty chatted away about the details of their day next month and we got down to the business of capturing them at their very best. Kirsty looked amazing and had put a lot of time and effort into making sure she felt incredible, and all the pampering certainly paid off as she was so relaxed and confident throughout the shoot. We photographed for over an hour and by the time we had finished we decided to carry on the wedding chat at a local country pub where we got an outside table and ordered some tea. Sadly for us, the balmy evening was soon broken by spots of rain which quickly turned into an incredible thunderstorm! So we moved inside where it was all cosy and had a lovely evening watching the rain bouncing on the patio, watching the lightening and talking the night away over a glass of wine.
