Wow, what an Incredible day! It had the potential to be the soggiest wedding we have ever photographed, but someone must have been watching over Eliza and Andy to make sure their day went perfectly... and it did!
Yesterday, Eliza and Andy got married at St Thomas' Church, Lydiate and then drove to the stunning West Towers in Aughton and we can honestly say we now have a new favourite wedding venue to photograph. The staff were so kind and helpful and really looked after everyone (including us) and their attention to detail was phenomenal!
Spirits were high in the morning during the preparations and Eliza and Andy didn't let the torrential rain dampen their spirits in the slightest.... especially once I had explained how lucky it is to have rain on your wedding day. Eliza and the bridesmaids looked stunning and the hot pink and teal colour scheme brought a touch of the tropics to the proceedings. The flowers by local florist Laurie just took my breath away they were so beautiful with their huge peonies which contrasted perfectly with the spiky thistles.
Eliza and her Father arrived in style in a beautiful vintage car and the sun shone over them with a golden glow. The ceremony was beautiful and really showed how serious Eliza and Andy are about spending the rest of their lives with each other. After the ceremony it was off to West Towers for the photographs and the most wonderful wedding breakfast.
Thanks to their engagement shoot, Eliza and Andy were complete naturals in front of the camera which enabled us to get some amazing photographs of them both to treasure forever. Big black clouds threatened to make it a wash out throughout the day but cleared miraculously when we needed them to so everyone could sit outside sipping pink champagne and enjoying the beautiful gardens and the ace saxophone player who wandered expertly between the tables entertaining the guests.
The speeches came before the meal so that everybody could relax and enjoy the delicious food and they were wonderful. Within the space of 10 minutes I had experienced every emotion going being guided from laughter to quiet tears by all who spoke about their love for Andy and Eliza.
The wedding cake was one of the stand out features of the day, and knowing Eliza I wasn't surprised in the slightest with how thoughtful and quirky it was. Included in the different tiers of the cake were all the significant moments in their relationship so far and it really was a fabulous sight.
Eliza and their guests boogied the night away to a very funky band that go by the name of Soul Patrol who really got the party going and the staff at West Towers kept everyone's energy up by serving fish and chip cones and sausage butties late into the night.
We had a fabulous time with you all yesterday and we hope your honeymoon in Vegas lives up to your expectations, we're sure it will! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.
Beautiful wedding! I love the colours, I've never seen them together before yet they work so well! I love the venue too! Congrats! x
